[Ti] TI upgrade ?

Could you direct me to where it says a Ti drive is user-replaceable? 
AppleCare has insisted to me that the drive is not user-replaceable, 
even though the manual has instructions for replacing it. (Just to 
make sure, I called twice to get a different opinion.)
