[Ti] screen shudder & shorting?

Sounds as though this may be attributable to infamous 'orange ribbon  
cable' problem where pressure from atop the casing above the optical  
drive area exerted pressure on cabling beneath. There are some long  
threads on the Apple Discussions site relating to this. Here is one  
but search for others
