If you still have AppleCare, you can call them to see if they have an  
official recommendation. Otherwise, we might want to be careful of  
lubricants because I think there are some circuit strips running  
through there for the display that could be damaged by the chemicals.  
WD-40 is a silicone lubricant that has solvents and anti-rust  
compounds that might be a little harsh. I think a small amount of  
plain silicone spray or graphite (lock lubricant) would be safer.  
Maybe even a drop of mineral oil might be OK, though it might have a  
higher probability of holding dirt and grit over time.
