I'm far from sure I understand what you are talking about, but I know  
that when we are using a phone connected to a cable modem it is  
important that the phone is a fair distance from the modem or there  
will be unpleasant noice in the phone.

Perhaps you could try and put a longer cable to the phone. Sorry if  
I'm missing the point. :-)
