Yes. If you are attempting to connect from within the campus network  
(your Powerbook also has a private 10.20.nn.nn. address), then there  
should not be a firewall in the path that would be blocking access to  
the port. That would mean the exchange server is not configured with  
IMAP able to respond on port 143.
