hi have you tried reading data off of another disc? does the same  
thing happen? if so, then your cd drive is probably dead. (can the  
disc be read on another computer?)

if you're on a tight schedule you might want to go out and buy  
yourself an external cd burner/player (they're pretty cheap), or  
you'll want to get that data onto some sort of media your titanium  
can read: usb key, ftp server, cf card, whatever.
