Since Gwen has to pay for the upgrade OS, I suggest OS 10.4.

I have the weakest of the Tibooks (400MHz) and it handles OS 10.4  
with no problem and certainly much less issues then what I had with  
10.2. Vaguely remember that 10.2.6 was reasonable but 10.2.8 was  
horrible and 10.3. came as a relief. :-)
