What processor does your Ti have ?
it should work fine with 10.3, so having those kind of video issues could a
number of things.

Also, the install you have for leopardŠ10.5, you said it was 10.5.3 ?  is
this a true retail copy or an original install disk from another machine ?

some of this will help info will help to understand why you are having
problems.  

you could also reset the PMU, go here to see the instructions, and it might
clear up the issues.

also reset the PRAM, holding down the option/cmd/P/R keys all at the same
time when you restartŠkeep holding them, it should into a restart loopŠkeep
holding and let it restart over and over, 4-6 times, let go and let it boot.
