Virtual PC and Linux, no sound

Hello.

Maybe someone has this already done and can help:
I have SuSE 8.2 running on Virtual PC 5.0.4.

I want to test some Video playback with different formats to see which 
Video format fits on low end hardware, specially if I can get MPEG -4 
running. But I can't get sound. System beeps on boot up and I cannot 
see any error messages during boot up.

I tried KDE Control Centre. Maybe I should set "User defined sound 
hardware?" How can I determine which sound hw I have?

What can I do?
