must I reboot to restore network?

Hi,

I have an Linksys ethernet router connecting an iBook (366) amd a 
iMac (800FP) to a DSL modem. When I disconnect the iBook the network 
connection is lost (logically). When I reconnect, the internet 
connection comes up immediately but I have to reboot to get the 
connection to the imac.

Is there a way around rebooting?
