	Thank you, Scott.  The article seems to answer the question of why I  
was getting "disc too slow" warnings in iMovie.

	I suspected that the disk needed defragging, but so many people  
maintain that Macs don't need defragging that I rejected that.   As  
this or the articles it led to point out, that's true with normal  
sized files.  With large files like movies, things change.   
Defragging sometimes is needed.  Makes sense.
