Diskwarrior and OS X

I'm actually reading the Diskwarrior Read Me file, and it says "You cannot
repair
a disk currently in use by Mac OS X. To repair a Mac OS X you will need to
be started
from a Mac OS 9 disk."

This doesn't affect me now, but what will happen when I buy a machine that only
runs X?
