Delete in Jag mail.app

Just got Jaguar, so far my first disappointment is the Delete command 
in the menu (right click).  Very annoying when you have a 100+ emails 
to read.  In 10.1 is was just a click and a slight twitch to the right, 
now it's a long drag to the bottom.  I don't suppose there's a  key 
command is there?
