Virtual PC 6.01 on a B&W G4 550 or G3 800?

Hello.

I am in a bind.   Currently I have a G3 450 B&W running Windows 2000
Professional for my college studies.  Windows runs like syrup.  I was
thinking of changing out the zif and wondered this?

Which would be better the G4 550, would there be any benefit to Altivec?
How about a G3 800 for raw data processing at a higher speed.


Anyone have an opinion or some facts to help me decide?
