Default Timing in OS X

Sorry if this does not show up right, a bit green around the gills yet.
That said, I wonder about default timings in OS X (10.2.5 running on
eMac G4, 700MHz with 512MB). Specifically when setting up the built-in
screen saver to pull pictures from a "slide folder", it is possible to
select a variety of interesting "display options".

To do so one selects "systems Preferences" from the dock & clicks on
"screen effects", and then on the "configure" button that appears. In
my case this brings up a sequential picture set of my beloved wife &
daughter.

Alas, too quick is each faded from my sight leaving a wistful longing
to hold them a little longer in my view. Thus my question is how to
adjust the length of time & speed that each picture zooms across my
desktop when the screen saver runs. Where are the default values for
this timing kept within OS X (10,2.5).

If any gentle soul can assist I would be much obliged. Thank you.
