Actually I'm in the same camp as Randy - to suggest that it can't be done is inviting trouble. I think for corporates the main problem is that they insist on standadising on one platform. A sensible strategy would be to have diverse platforms and then at least something would be left standing in the event of attack. Since this is a Newbie list, it might be worth someone posting a quick rundown on how to check that your Mac is locked down. For example, is it worth setting up separate admin and user accounts (users without admin privileges), given that many machines are single user. Check firewall is on (but how do you stop malicious code from dialling out). Is it really worth having anti-virus software and which seems the most effective? My router has a built in firewall, but these are not invincible. How do I minimise the damage if something does get through?
