Certainly it's faster than the earlier ones 54mps compared to 11mps, but
the base station drivers will AFAIK only run on X, meaning you can't
control it from a machine running 9.  In addition, (and I would not swear
absolutely to this) if there are any machines with an 11b card on the
network it will slow the whole network to the speed of the slowest.

In practice so long as your main machine is running X then I doubt you
will have any serious problems.  

BTW did you get your pdf probs sorted?
