Address Book problems-LONG

if this is a duplicate for anyone.

I have been having a horrible time with address book. It seemed to
start after syncing it with Palm. Initially, whenever I would try to
search for a name, I would get the rainbow-spinning ball eternally. I
repaired permissions, trashed the prefs, used Disk Warrior. Now, it
crashes when I try to load the app. I've also deleted the app and  
preferences and used Pacifist to reinstall. Still, a crash upon launch.
