Connect X/Win2000

Hi all,

I want to connect my G4/400 running 10.2.1 with a PC running Win2000. 
Initially this will be P2P to check the network cabling, and later will
run with a router/ADSL Modem.  

A couple of points:
Will I need a crossover cable or an ordinary ethernet patch cable when I
run P2P?

Will this also apply when I start to use the router (probably a Draytek)?

In general is there anything I need to look out for, possible problems
and so on.
