Partitioning an External Hard Disk

Hi to all List Members

I have an external Firewire disk which I would like to use to transfer 
files between home and work mainly in OSX but have an occasional need 
to connect to windows.

Can any one suggest a utility or method which will enable me to format 
one partition for HFS+ and one for Windows.
