How do you mean 'manage' and what do you mean by 'web images'?
Are these images that form part of your web site? If so, what software 
are you using to build the site and does it not 'manage the images' 
itself?

iPhoto, or Graphic Converter as you mentioned.

How so easier? In GC you select slide show, select the folder and away 
it goes.

Drag the desired folder into the left pane of iPhoto (where all your 
photos are listed, not the viewing area), or use the import feature.

No, of course not. You did not select them. Select a group of photos, 
open them with Preview and they will all be there.
