Help Window Help

What do you do when the help window is malfunctioning? :)

Have the following problems:

1) When I open help from finder window, it does not open to "mac help" 
window, I have to select it from the library

2) I type in something and it displays results.  But, when I press the 
"back" button, it doesn't respond. Then it says "Help does not know 
what to do with selected URL" then it will crash.

Any ideas?
