But people worry WAY too much about this. Run OnyX (freeware) once a month to make up for this. Rotating the logs is fine, but it's not one of the things that MUST be done all the time to have a healthy system. You could go for MONTHS if not YEARS without performing this maintenance with no ill effects. If you're interested in a trouble-free system, make routine backups (particularly when things are running well), clean out your browser cache every now and then, and do some directory maintenance every quarter or so using a tool like DiskWarrior (latest version) or Tech Tool Pro (latest version). Don't let your hard drive go down to less than 10% free space, run OnyX or something like it every now and then to update the logs, and don't be the first in line to try betas of system-altering stuff.
