Again, how to deal with MIME?

Does this person need to turn off "send messages as MIME" in his PC 
software or what? I keep getting this:

To read this message, select all of the parts of the message and select 
the Message --> MIME --> Combine Messages menu item.


But there IS no place to "combine". What to do?
What can either of us do to prevent this splitting up of files?
And unlike on OS 9, I can not just copy the text and run it through 
expander and have it turn into a JPG like I have done so often.
