New Classic Items with Panther?

I understand that Panther has new software features to enhance Classic
operations.  I have a dual-boot QuickSilver G4 733.

When I install Panther, will these new features find their way into my OS
9.2.2 system folder which is on a separate volume?  Do I have to do anything
specific to make that happen?
