It's generally thought curteous to provide a link when you mention 
something like that.

Be that as it may, you may not have noticed that the MacFixIt report 
<http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20040113072754832&query=> 
refers to Panther, while the initial post in this thread was about 
Jaguar. Moreover, your statement: "Keep in mind that by default, Find 
File in OSX does not search in the System folder", suggests that this 
is the normal behaviour in Mac OS X, while the MacFixIt report suggests 
it is a bug specific to 10.3.2.
