OS9 to OSX Icon Conversion

Hi all,

flushed with the success of converting my favourite OS9 desktop colour to
run on OSX, I now want to convert some of my favourite Icons from 9 to X.
 I should add that I've been through many of the icon sites to find
similar ones but with no luck.

Does anyone know if a simple conversion is possible?  What is the
standard size for X Icons and can they be pasted in the same way as with
OS9 by using 'get info' and paste in the appropriate spot?  Should they
be pngs or are they a special format?

All information greatly appreciated.
