[X-Newbies] Problem installing Fink on OS X 10.3.8.

If I recall correctly Virex(?) installs a folder 'sw' at the root level 
of your HD and causes the issue you are describing. Basically, you 
could not install/run Fink with Virex installed. I may be wrong, it 
could have been another Symantec/Norton piece of software that was 
causing this problem.
