[X-Newbies] Possible to use JPG as default in Grab?

I've notied that screen captures (ctrl-apple-4) will be saved as TIFF  
images, which is a waste of bandwich if you want to use them as a  
small picture in a email message. Is there a way to use JPG instead?  
Apart from opening the TIFF and saving  is as a JPG?

I would really kike that option.
