But the box is worded very poorly. You can use an Airport Express with 10.2.8 -- I have a client who is doing exactly that -- but she's not using AirTunes so I can't say whether *it* requires 10.3 or not. I suspect that it requires iTunes 4.6 or better and QuickTime 6.x or better, which may mean that Panther is a must (or may not). > Is this a trivial upgrade or more than trivial? > I found it trivial, because I follow correct procedures: 1. Backup (clone) your drive to an external HD. 2. Repair permissions. 3. Perform update (there are other options but plain old "update" works fine). 4. Repair permissions again. 5. (optional) Reboot and enjoy. > What kind, if any, compatibility issues with 10.3 regards to software > such as now contact, final cut pro, word? > No idea about Now Contact, ask the company that makes it. Final Cut Pro may need to be updated to latest version, but is designed to work under 10.3 Word (v. X and the new 2004 version) works fine under 10.3 > Is there a list kept somewhere of such compatibility issues? No -- it's kind of obvious that you should keep your software up-to-date. Apple can't possibly test every app for the remote possibility that there will be problems -- that's the developer's job. So check with them. _Chas_ FL-MUG: central Florida's Macintosh User Group.
