[X-Newbies] Applications Settings Being Changed by ?

I'm using Tiger on an iMac G5. A couple of days ago I started getting a 
warning message: "New Settings have been Created for this application." 
I'm asked whether I want to accept them or not. I've given no orders for 
changing settings. (Apps range from the printer to File Maker Pro.) I've 
accepted some of the new settings but refused others, willy nilly. The 
warning message--you know, the triangle with the exclamation point--is 
annoying and time consuming because one can't go on without giving it a 
response.

The message does not tell me what the changes are. Has some evil being 
taken up residence in the computer?
