Hello, I'm still quite a newbie with OS X (usually work with Linux), but we are setting up a network at my school and don't seem to find the way it should work. What we want (have) to do: We have a server (running Apples X server). We have a bunch of iMacs that the users will use. The apps are on the iMacs, but the home directories will be on the server. So far this works OK. We would like to have other shared directories (could also be partitions) on the server that users would have access to. We created some, and we can mount them (Go - connect to server, etc...) What we don't get right is that we'd like these AFS shares to mount automatically at startup, either on the desktop or in the dock, because lot's of users just won't be able to use the connect to server way. In the server stuff, there is a place where we should give a mounting path, but the documentation does not say how we should put it - and what we tried did not work. Anyone knows a way to do this, or a good source for information? I think I would manage this with an NFS server, but well, they want to do it the AFS way. Thanks in advance for any hint, Thierry -- The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? Frank Zappa
