[X-Newbies] Copying a stickies database

Recently I transferred my personal files from a G4, suffering a 
breakdown, to a G5. I am running OS X.4. The only problem I have left 
is to establish my old stickies database, which I copied, in the new 
to computer. I tried dropping the copy into the user's library, but 
when I opened Stickies, there was nothing there but one blank card. 
Could someone explain slowly what I am doing wrong?
