'Pound for pound, they are. BUT....where Intel and AMD continued to  
ramp up their speed the PPC chip has been stalled. So, it was OK back  
when a 500 mhz PPC 'equalled' a 1 gig Intel. Now that Intel and AMD  
are well beyond doubling the speed of the fastest PPC, the argument  
becomes moot.
