With the catalogs like MacZone, MacWarehouse, look for incentives such 
as free printer, free extra RAM.  If the machine is dead on arrival, 
you pay shipping back unless you choose to play with Apple's warranty 
process.  Stores like MicroCenter and CompUSA may occasionally have 
incentives as well, or open box discounts.

But then, when I bought my G4 iBook last fall, the Apple Store was 
running a $100 rebate on any of a half dozen printers and all-in-ones.  
I picked a printer.
