[X-Newbies] Apple OS X support for mobile phones.

It is about time for me to get a new mobile phone, I have been noting
with some concern that Apple's support for new phone models seems to
be going the same direction as modem support took in OS 8 & 9. More
and more models with new features arrive on the market, without
support in the OS. I have noticed that many users are forced to try
solutions like "The Missing Sync...". Any suggestions? I am living in
Europe, so I'm not tied in the same way that many US residents are as
to what phones are available from which provider, etc. At this time, I
am using a Sony Ericsson P800.
