[X-Newbies] Buying advice

Tried sending this a few hours ago, but it's never showed up. I'm  
trying again. If it comes through twice, I apologize!

So, I'm needing a new computer and am soliciting opinions.My G4/533  
just died after nearly 10 years of faithful service. I had hoped to be  
able to use my 17 inch Apple LCD monitor with a new Mac Mini, but have  
learned that the ADC connector on it makes it a problematic  
connection. My two options right now are:
1. Buy a Mini anyway and purchase an inexpensive (under $200) monitor  
from another vendor.
2. Buy an iMac

Any thoughts?  I kind of like the idea of a small, quiet computer like  
the Mini, and it would end up being cheaper than the iMac, but it  
seems like the iMac is a whole lot more computer for the money. Is it?

If I go with the iMac, I'll probably get the 21.5 inch model since  
that would fit my desk better. Any thoughts about the 3.06 vs 3.2 GHZ  
models? And is there any reason, I really should consider the bigger  
screen model. I'm not a power user and don't do video editing work. It  
will be a home computer - basic stuff with iWork projects, etc.
