Off hand, I believe it should be okay, unless you have a public_html (or any web shared folders). However, please keep in mind that I am very tired, and my opinion would probably be different when starting the day fresh. So, I might be wrong, in fact I probably am, so if anyone could correct me or confirm, I would appreciate. SOME scripts are kept in your home folder, but they are usually executed by the system. I am not sure of what would happen. -----Original Message----- From: Mac OS X Unix [mailto:X-Unix at lists.themacintoshguy.com] On Behalf Of Stephen Jonke Sent: 10 février 2004 22:33 To: Mac OS X Unix Subject: [X-Unix] Stupid Mac OS X question (?) Or maybe just a stupid idea. Is there anything wrong with doing this: sudo chmod -R go-rwx ~/* I.e. I want to block out access of others to everything in my home folder, but will doing this break anything in the system? Are there files that must be readable by group and/or other?
