   If you have only an SSH link to a system, then a GUI client can be a
problem. And why bother, really, if you don't have to? You're freed from
most HTML mail and thereby most phishing schemes (if an embedded image
is tagged with a unique identifier in the URL), and for so many other
reasons (bloat, speed, network load, etc., etc.).
   Plus, it's harder for someone dropping by your desk to realize that
you're reading read a mailing list when it's displayed text-only in a
little terminal window. :7)
