[X-Unix] Unix Mail ?

I use mail semi-regularly. First it is used daily by crontab.  
Secondly, I use it occasionally for sending brief notes in email from  
the command line. The issue is that you have to turn on Postfix.  
(I've used it in Jaguar, Panther and  Tiger)
