[X-Unix] Help batch renaming files with two "extentions"

If you are trying to learn linux scripting, I understand. However this 
task is trivial using the built in AppleScript (Finder Scripts -> 
TrimFileNames)
You can turn on the AppleScript Menu by <file:/Applications/Install\ 
Script\ Menu>.
