[X-Unix] Apps Crashing When Printing After Upgrade

Hello--

NOTE: This may not be the best place for me to address this issue; if so,
please feel free to suggest a more appropriate venue.

I recently upgraded my Mac (PowerMac G5/2GB RAM/150GB HD) from OS X 10.3.9
to 10.4.8. Since then, every app in which I tried to print crashed as soon
as I entered the Print command.

Any suggestions on possible avenues to take in troubleshooting & correcting
this?
