Math error. 1024k in a Meg, 1024M in a Gig....

Could someone help me resolve this...

It's regarding the disk quota I set earlier this week.
I set the soft and hard limits at 2000000 (1k blocks) which should  
equal 2GB

When I run: quota in terminal, it reports the user is using 1042048  
(1k blocks) which should be 1.042048 GB

But...when I run: du -h on the users home folder, it reports 2.2GB in  
use.

The user can download big files, so they're not over quota, and, of  
course quota is on.

Have I made a math error?  Whuz-up-wi-dat???
