iChatFinder (now ChatFinder) no longer free...alternatives?

Yet another iChat AV question from me :-)

I recently logged onto iChatFinder, and found that it now blocks access 
to screen names unless you become an "Elite" member.  This completely 
prevents search-and-connect without paying a big fee.

I know that servers/bandwidth/tech support isn't free, but does anyone 
know of free alternatives out there for connecting with other ichat AV 
users?
