[X4U] Startup difficulties

It's good to be back on this list.

Now I have a curiosity to explore.  PB 12" G4 867, OS X 10.3.6

New hard drive, software restored by Finder copy from a back-up FW drive.

On startup I am having a lot open that I have not listed in Accounts:startup items, nor are they to be found 
in any startup items folder at root, in my user folder, or in System. Some are text documents, one a finder 
window (agents defaults) two invoking OmniOutliner ... and I cannot figure out for the life of me why.

Ideas?
