[X4U] Tiger does not install here

Boot with your Panther install CD, select Utilities->Disk Utility and
repair the disk. If that passes, then boot with the Apple Hardware Test CD
and run the extended tests. If your system passes everything, repair the
disk again, then try the Tiger installer.
