[X4U] Logitech headset

Months ago I bought a Logitech headset for the G5.  So far no  
problems.  I could listen to music or use it with Skype.  Today  
suddenly it stopped working in any USB connector I plugged it in.
The sound just stopped despite it was selected in the Sound prefs.
I tried it on a PB and it works.  It has nothing to do with the  
headset.  Is it possible that the USB ports went bananas?
To repair it I restarted but the counter kept running forever at  
startup.  I had to shut down, wait a little and restart.  It still  
doesn't work.
