[X4U] How do I lower the bit rate on an MP3?

Change the bit rate in the importing prefs in iTunes - set to  
whatever you want. Then, select all the files (put them in a playlist  
first, perhaps), then Advanced > Convert to MP3 (if that's the format  
you chose). They will be converted, and you can delete the old ones.
