[X4U] Interesting Disk Permissions Issue

Since upgrading to Tiger, something has happened to my disk permissions.
While on iChat, I had a friend pass me a file through a chat window.
Now, before, it was easy to accept the file and save it to my disk.
Now, iChat tells me that the directory I have marked for saving it to  
is read only, or I don't have permissions.
I am the Admin, and I went in to check info on the folder. It is a  
read/write permissions and belongs to "all" for files.
Any ideas?
