Yes, but its a pretty darn big leap IMO to go from an unnamed source saying Apple is talking to Intel about "chips" to Apple building Macs with Intel CPU's . Note AFAICT, the original source says "chips" not CPU's. And lets think for a minute about some of the chips from Intel Apple may want to use. IIRC they've already used Intel chips for some built-in ethernet controllers, they use embedded Intel CPU's in xServe Raids. They also use (again IIRC) AMD chips in the Airport Base Stations. Also consider USB (an Intel technology) and PCI (particularly the newer generations). There are all kinds of reasons for Apple to be talking to Intel about "chips". Many more plausible IMO than about primary CPUs for a new breed of Mac. But that doesn't make headlines and create buzz. -Mike
